   9 years ago. The tourist part of Centro Historico is safe ( Zocalo, Bellas Artes and the immediate streets), but if you go beyond that, you could easily get into rough neighbourhoods. There's no reason for a tourist to do that, though. All you need is a map. At night it is kind of dodgy and dark, not necessarily more dangerous, but kind of dodgy.
