The key ingredients of a Christmas movie winner, in my not-so-humble opinion, are as follows: A quaint setting, a PG-13 level of romance, hilarious auxiliary characters, a few pets, and, of course, snow. Our female lead is a cringey, unlikable drunk. She's just awful! Her character supposedly grew up on a farm but she can't tell the difference between a cow and a bull, she can't ride a horse and she freaks out over a spider. Ugh! The gay couple is completely over the top and cliche.
