The Front Range runs north-south between Casper, Wyoming, and Pueblo, Colorado, and rises nearly 10,000 feet above the Great Plains. Longs Peak, Mount Blue Sky, and Pikes Peak are its most prominent peaks, visible from the Interstate 25 corridor.

Front Range. There are 917 named mountains in the Front Range of Colorado. Grays Peak is the highest point. The most prominent mountain is Pikes Peak. This large range of mountains extends northward about 175 miles from the Arkansas River Valley west of the city of Pueblo to the Wyoming state line.
The Front Range is probably Colorado's best known mountain range. The altitudes of included peaks, mountains and points have a staggering range from 5,200ft. up to 14,278ft (9,000'+ departure!). Because the variance in altitude is so overwhelmingly large, vegetation and geology is typically diverse.
