Aug 1, 1997 · Out-of-shape, clumsy and clueless about dancing, the group experiences some hilarious mishaps and family misunderstandings as they secretly prepare for a one-time, show-stopping performance. Thankfully, the thick British accents and native slang make much of the crude humor difficult to grasp, but THE FULL MONTY still delivers plenty of laughs.

The stripping theme permeated the movie, but I had not difficulty with it because these men were never portrayed as Christians. The language is also pervasive, but, again, the language used showed the men as they would talk. The homosexual scene was so low key that I missed it when I first saw the movie (two men hold hands during a funeral).
The Full Monty begins with 6 steelworkers in the North of England being laid off. Gaz, Dave (Gaz' best mate), Nathan (Gaz's son), Lomper (the mill security guard), Gerald (the foreman at the mill before it closed) Horse (a good dancer) and Guy (a well-endowed man who can't dance) decide that after seeing the girls go crazy in the bar for a stripper.
