Thomas “Big Foot” O’Folliard was an outlaw cattle rustler and a friend to Billy the Kid. He was second-in-command in Billy the Kid’s Gang. Born to Irish immigrant parents in 1858, Thomas was orphaned as a boy when his parents died of smallpox.
Tom O'Folliard (1858 – December 19, 1880) was the best friend of outlaw William Bonney, a.k.a. Billy the Kid. Both were members of the Regulators during the Lincoln County War. After the war ended, they became cattle rustlers, forming the Bonney gang with fellow outlaws Dave Rudabaugh, Charlie Bowdre, Tom Pickett, and Billy Wilson.
Tom Folliard was possibly born in Uvalde, Texas in 1861. Unfortunately, tragedy struck his family when his parents, Stephen Folliard and mother Sarah Cook, fell victim to smallpox in Monclova Coahuila México in 1865, leaving Tom to fend for himself as an orphan.
