The shooting range is open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis during business hours of the range and only when certified range safety officers are on duty. Range fees will be charged. ($5/day adults, $2/day youth; trap and skeet range prices are $5 per round.) Hours of operation are as follows:
Oct 22, 2011 · Sep 20, 2011. 504. 18. Indianapolis. Yesterday, my friend Mark and I went to the Wilbur Wright Fish and Wildlife Area to sight in his AR-15 (Rock River Arms Carbine 5.56). Brand new weapon, iron sights, yada, yada, yada. First of all the weather was perfect. After a week of cold and rain the sun came out and the wind died completely.
Jun 6, 2012 · A friend and I went to Wilbur Wright and it was dead! So we asked the range officer if we could do reloading drills and double tap and he said go for it. We went up to about 7yards on the pistol and 30yards on the rifle. That doesnt happen often, there usually is atleast a couple people there but I still enjoy going to that range.

Wilbur Wright in New Castle is amazing. It’s publicly owned, so it’s free. It’s out doors as well. They have a 75yd range, 50yd range and a shotgun range. Generally a great atmosphere as well. Only opened on weekend though.
