Brandon James Routh ( ⫽ ˈraʊθ ⫽; born October 9, 1979) [1] is an American actor. He portrayed Superman in the 2006 film Superman Returns, which garnered him international fame.

His first professional acting role was in the ABC television series Odd Man Out (1999), and he went on to guest star in the series Gilmore Girls (2000) and Undressed (1999). He came to fame with Superman Returns (2006) and DC's Legends of Tomorrow (2016).
