May 7, 2002 · One of my favourite Sherlock Holmes movies, before the Jeremy Brett series. Always a fan of Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee, this definitely has the "Hammer touch" and makes for a fun movie. Peter Cushing would return as Holmes for the BBC series in 1968, even making another version of Hound of the Baskervilles.

Atmospherically, "The Hound of the Baskervilles" is arguably the best of the 14 Holmes films, and the only one based specifically on a Conan Doyle story.
