Kagemusha was probably my least favourite of all Kurosawa's films when I went through his entire canon earlier this year. I found it very beautiful and stylish in a superficial way and I thought the ending was a fantastic piece of storytelling and near-perfect example of a character arc but ultimately I was left feeling underwhelmed, empty and bored throughout much of it's running time.
