As with many of my favorite pictures from the era, a genuine haunting is juxtaposed against (and informed by) a noir-ish tale of very human greed, gaslighting, and murder.

My history with THE GHOST OF SIERRA DE COBRE is a bit convoluted. Until very recently, I'd never heard of the film before ... and this is despite being a fan of Director and Screenwriter Joseph Stefano (who I saw many years ago when he gave a presentation with Guillermo del Toro at the Austin Screenwriters' Conference on the topic of Creating Suspense!).
