The romantic city of Steyr at the confluence becomes a Christkindlstadt every year in Advent. The small district of Christkindl has always been the centre of Steyr’s Christmas events. The pilgrimage church was built 300 years ago on the site where the Steyr citizen Ferdinand Sertl placed a small wax figure in a tree hollow and retired to pray.
