This is because E10 uses a higher proportion of bioethanol (produced from renewable crops like grains, waste, wood and sugar beet) than E5. Up to 5% of E5 fuel is renewable ethanol. Meanwhile, up to 10% of E10 fuel is renewable ethanol.
