The 1st pattern eagles produced from 1934 to 1936 feature an eagle with a “droop” tail, while the 2nd pattern eagles produced from 1936/1937 to 1945 feature an eagle with a “flared” tail.

Rare Third Reich eagle 400 mm (40 cm) for the narrow-gauge railways trains. Used on br 86 DRG class locomotives, as well as a side emblem on E18/19 electric locomotives, as well as on Reich mail buses. Duralumin. There is some damage from oxidation shown in the pictures. In general looks great.
During the Third Reich a stylised eagle combined with the swastika was made the national emblem (Hoheitszeichen) by order of Adolf Hitler in 1935. Despite its mediæval origin, the term "Reichsadler" in common English understanding is mostly associated with this version.
