May 20, 2024 · As cinemainternational points out, the recent movie issues on TCM were very similar ( Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid and Forty Guns) - in both cases the correct introduction was shown, followed by a period of a dark screen, followed by a replacement movie and other shorts etc. to fill the allotted time.
May 22, 2024 · It is too much of a coincidence that in both failures (Plaid and Forty Guns) the problem happened at the exact beginning of the film. A random transmission failure could take place at any point in the film.
