Toei Animation Co., Ltd., was established in 1956, but its inception dates back to the merger of Japan Animation Co., Ltd. with Toei Company, Ltd. in 1948. The current studio was built in Tokyo's Higashi Oizumi district at the end of 1956 and production started in 1957.
Since Toei Animation Co, Ltd was founded in 1956, we have been producing numerous works of animation in the front line of the industry for over half a century. We boast Japan's largest and a world-class library, which comprises of 239 theatrical features and 220 TV programs, totaling 12,569 episodes (as of September 2018).
