Mar 31, 2020 · Frankie Lymon performs on Alan Freed’s ”Big Beat Show” and when Frankie is shown dancing with a white girl who jumps up on the stage, angry and upset reactions started flooding in, and when ABC’s business affiliates in the south were upset and offended, ABC officially cancelled Big Beat to save the situation which in 1957 became known as the ”Big Beat Scandal”.
