Nov 15, 2023 · Raymond VI (Occitan Ramon October 27, 1156 August 2, 1222) was Count of Toulouse and Marquis of Provence from 1194 to 1222. He was also (as Raymond IV) Count of Melgueil from 1173 to 1190. Born at SaintGilles, Gard, he was a son of Raymond V and Constance of France.

Raymond II (died 924) was the Count of Toulouse, Nîmes, and Albi. He was the, probably elder, son of Odo of Toulouse and Garsenda. In 886, at the death of Bernard the Calf, he succeeded to the comital title in Nîmes and Albi while Odo his father received the county of Toulouse. In 898, his father made him Count of Rouergue.
