Nov 25, 1977 · Né à Lausanne en 1902, Alfred Métraux fit à Paris ses études universitaires. Diplômé de l'École des langues orientales, docteur ès lettres, il devint l'un des maîtres de l'ethnologie d'Amérique latine. De 1950 à 1962, il anima un grand nombre de projets de l'Unesco. Il est mort en 1963.
