Season 1 of The Shield premiered on March 12, 2002. Vic Mackey is the leader of an elite Strike Team unit, a group of cops effective at eliminating crime while operating under Vic's set of rules that sometimes cross the line between legal and illegal. The precinct's new captain doesn't like Vic's tactics, and wants to bust him off the force.
The Shield (2002) enters its fourth season with Vic Mackey adrift after his past actions have caught up with him. He's no longer the cop he used to be - the Strike Team has dissolved and he's stuck babysitting a menial surveillance sting that keeps him off the street.
