  5. Dec 7, 2006 · The G.I. Blues album spent a total of 111 weeks on Billboard's Top Pop chart, with 10 weeks at #1. No other release by Elvis charted for this length of time. This version of the album is called the "Collector's Edition" and what you get is the expanded 20 track version from 1997 with the disk enclosed in a CD size 26 page hard-cover book.

  6. Selling for around US$45 it was certainly great value-for-money. It also included multiple takes from the Paramount Soundstage session that we note are not featured on this FTD 'G.I. Blues' Vol.1 release. EIN wonders if any of the missing April 27-28 sessions will be mopped up on Volume 2.
