May 3, 2019 · It turns out that neither Windows Update or Dell Update identified that I was running an old version of the Realtek audio driver (6.0.1.8245, dated 29/08/2017). Once I'd manually updated this to 6.0.1.8622 (dated 22/01/2019) then the service correctly started and the CPU load returned to normal.

Feb 2, 2017 · Simply uninstall Waves MaxxAudio Pro. Start Menu > Waves MaxxAudio Pro > right click > uninstall. Worked for me. Or, you could change the audio driver from Realtek to Microsoft, which also worked for me, but this seems a bit heavy handed:

Jan 18, 2022 · Don't use the wavesaudiomax from the windows store, it sucks. Better reinstall driver and use the wavesaudio app included on the audio driver for your pc.
Nov 15, 2019 · the best solution to this is to completely uninstall the driver using BCUninstaller (uninstall both Waves MaxxAudio and Reatek). After that, open Device Manager (search it in searchbar) and uninstall any audio devices. Restart your laptop then reinstall the driver provided by Dell.
