Jan 24, 2013 · The cemetery is easily accessed from the road that runs around Mt. Zion and the Old City wall. Coming from Zion Gate, walk down to the road and turn right. The walled-off cemetery will soon come into view, with an English-language sign reading "Grave of Oskar Schindler" above the gate. Schindler is buried on the lower level.
After having read the novel and watched the movie "Schindler's list" it was a big wish to visit Oskar Schindler's grave at the protestant graveyard on Mount Zion. It was, however, very difficult to find the graveyard. We walked around on Mount Zion for more than an hour before finding it next to the parking lot outside Zion Gate.
A famous grave is the tomb of Oskar Schindler (1908-1974). The industrialist, who was born and raised in Zwickau, saved the lives of over 1000 Jews during World War II by dint of his warlike production facility in today´s Poland. Even after the war, Oskar Schindler was in close contact to his former Jewish employees in Jerusalem.
