Yoshiyahu99. • 6 mo. ago. The reason why this is wrong was because of authorial intent. Stephen Hillenburg wanted to end the series at the movie, it's as simple as that. His vision for SpongeBob ended at the movie, and didn't want it to become the low quality milked cash cow it became after.
