The Nobel Peace Center succeeds in uniting an existing building with new structures and enabling the investigation and integration of new technologies and interactivity to enhance the visitor experience. The Center opened in June 2005 with special guests Nelson Mandela and the 2005 prize winner Wangari Maathai.

Nov 16, 2021 · The peace bench will be placed outside the Nobel Peace Center to encourage peaceful conversation and dialogue. After the unveiling, the Peace Center will launch a new dialogue project with an event featuring former Prime Minister Gro Harlem Brundtland and member of the Norwegian Nobel Committee Jørgen Watne Frydnes, among others.
