It was an average beach. A good stop if you are in Key West and really want to go to the beach, but don't expect crystal clear and blue water. It reminded me a lot of lake water. If you are deciding between Smathers and the Fort's beach and you are coming for lounging and playing in the water definitely choose this one over the Fort.
