  1. And because we don’t know how to talk to strangers, we are inviting conflict and misunderstanding in ways that have a profound effect on our lives and our world. 2. Personally, I suggest you start with some of his short stories first — “White Nights,” “An Honest Thief,” “Bobok,” and “The Dream of a Ridiculous Man” are good examples, and they’re all fun to read. Then read the masterpieces: Notes from Underground. Crime and Punishment. The Idiot.

  3. If I remember correctly, King Rat follows, then Noble House and then Whirlwind. I'm reading it in timeline order, rather than date of publication. Gai-Jin isn't nearly as good as Noble House, so I would read Noble House first. I don't think the order matters much. Whirlwind is also inferior.

  4. Both are good. Court books are more relationship based (imo) where as tog is more plot, plot, plot. I recommend tog first cause it’s my favorite. Throne of Glass. I’ve heard from several people (and I can now say I agree with them) that it’s a lot harder to get into ToG if you’ve read ACOTAR first.

  5. CYCLE OF THE ABSURD 1st The Stranger 2nd Caligula 3rd The Myth of Sisyphus. CYCLE OF REVOLT 1st The Plague 2nd The Just Assassins 3rd The Rebel. The Fall isn't fit to any cycle, but I think this would be a nice moment to read it. The same applies to Exile and Kingdom. CYCLE OF LOVE The First Man.

  6. My girlfriend just started ATOTC so I dont get to read it until she is done (shes so greedy haha). I'm currently half way into Hemingway's For Whom the Bell Tolls so I still have a bit to decide which CD book I'm going to read first but I'm leaning toward either David Copperfield or Great Expectations. Thanks for the input.

  7. I think the typical suggestion from philosophers will be that you ought to read no books from Ayn Rand first, because she is not a good philosopher. If however you insist on reading Rand, Anthem is as fine a place as any to start. Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead are also fine, although they are longer, Atlas Shrugged very much so.
