The lake follows the shape of the valley of the Westbourne Stream, which now flows underground. The Queen Caroline memorial was unveiled by HM The Queen in 1990.

The tenants were A&P and Hyde Park Variety Store. 1928 – Shipe Park, previously called Hyde Park Playground, was dedicated. The log clubhouse dates from 1935.
Anzac Memorial and Pool of Reflection, this memorial is to Australia's World War I soldiers opened in 1934. In front of the memorial along the park's central avenue is the Pool of Reflection. This is my favorite spot in the park - see the separate review for the ANZAC. Emden Gun, a war trophy that stands at the south-east corner of the park.

Fundraising for a memorial began during the war, but the memorial was not built until the early 1930s, opening in 1934. It was designed by the architect C. Bruce Dellit and created collaboratively with the sculptor Rayner Hoff.

Take a dip in the pool (open seasonally) or visit the historic log cabin on site, which dates back to 1930. Avenue B Grocery & Market. Built in 1909, Austin's oldest grocery store is a charming delight.
