Maximillian Albert "Max" George [1] (born 6 September 1988) is an English singer, best known as the lead singer of the boy band The Wanted . George started his career as a footballer, playing for Preston North End. After an injury ended his football career, he decided to pursue a music career. George made his singing debut with the band Avenue.

He is ninth all-time in steals with 738, and is one of baseball’s greatest triples hitters with 159. The quintessential five-tool player, Carey could catch, throw, hit for average, run, and hit for power.
In 1944, he became a skipper in a different league. He managed the Milwaukee Chicks of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. He was president of the AAGPBL from 1945-49 and managed the Fort Wayne Daisies from 1950-51. Carey was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1961. He passed away on May 30, 1976.
