Victor Kugler served in the Austrian navy during World War I. Subject. Victor Kugler was conscripted into the Austrian Navy in the Adriatic at the age of 17. In April 1918, he was wounded and discharged with a pension. [1] There are two photos of Kugler in sailor uniform, taken in Gladbeck. His cap reads K.u.K. Kriegsmarine. [2]

In hiding: 13 July 1942. Arrested: 4 August 1944. Died: 10 May 1945. Peter van Pels was 15 years old when he had to go into hiding with his parents. They arrived at the hiding place one week after the Frank family. Peter was the only boy in the Secret Annex. Peter was the son of Hermann and Auguste van Pels.
Victor Kugler escapes during an air raid. In late March 1945, Victor Kugler was sent to Germany on foot with about 600 fellow prisoners. Near Zevenaar, the column came under fire from British aircraft. Kugler took advantage of the confusion and escaped. After a few days, he arrived home in Hilversum. Event. At 12:30 pm, the warehouse workers went home for lunch, and the helpers and people in hiding had the place to themselves for a while. At 12:45 pm, a few of the helpers, usually Johannes Kleiman, Victor Kugler and Bep Voskuijl, came up to the Secret Annex to have lunch. In the beginning, Johan Voskuijl (Bep’s father) often came up, too.
