The twice widowed, Norwegian immigrant mother of four children, lived on a picturesque farm in La Porte, Indiana. The local community perceived Belle Gunness as a private, respected member who had fallen on the hardship of being unlucky with love. While in fact, Belle lived a secretive lifestyle driven by an insatiable drive for power and money.
However, the movie managed to create a creepy atmosphere, thanks to the good production design. The gore effects are realistic and very disturbing to watch to some extent. The score is hard-hitting and the acting is pretty decent. Overall, the farm had the potential and concept to be a good movie but fails at execution.

Apr 23, 2018 · This movie was a rejection of Christianity and promotion of vegsnism. All the cannibals wore farm animal masks, the same animals that many Christians enjoy as part of their diet. The main couple enjoyed a meal of burgers with bacon and cheese. This foreshadowed what they would become. By showing a role reversal we have the promotion of veganism.
