  1. The ISI’s recent inspection of Danes Hill School was completed in February 2020. A summary of the report can be found below, the full inspection report can be found at the bottom of this section. We are extremely proud of the outcome of this inspection, in which Danes Hill received the highest possible results, across the board.

  2. Danes Hill School offers scholarships in various categories such as academic excellence, arts, sports and music. Scholarships may provide partial fee remission and/or contribution or full support for tuition of the scholarship area. Scholarships are offered for pupils in Years 3, 5 and 7 and both internal and external candidates may apply.

  3. Danes Hill School is widely recognised as one of the leading co-educational day preparatory schools in the country. Situated in 55 acres of landscaped ground in the village of Oxshott, Surrey, Danes Hill provides children aged 3 to 13 with a dynamic and exciting education.

  4. The Upper School is made up of three year groups – Years 6, 7 and 8. Children are encouraged to establish, strengthen and value friendships and to support and encourage each other in their endeavours. A well-established House system introduces the fun of lively competition and develops a bond among pupils across the age range.

  6. In Year 1 children have more opportunities to visit the Prep School as they prepare for their move up to Year 2. The day starts between 8.25am and 8.55am with registers taken at 8.55am. End of day is at 3.15pm. Many families also make use of our wrap around care which includes a breakfast club from 7.40am and extended day ending at 5.25pm.

  7. To mark their 75th anniversary Danes Hill School will throw open their doors to the public and hold a community fete in June to mark this momentous occasion. Danes Hill transitioned from a private house to a private school in 1947. It began as a boarding and day preparatory school for boys aged 8 -13, typical of a prep school of its day.
