At the very end of the episode when Natalie says "happy birthday, Mr. Monk" Monk feeds Natalie a piece of his cake. She opens her mouth what looks kind of awkward and bites it with her teeth, then looks away and down with her teeth together but her mouth is still open.
Also objectionable: Natalie's dismissal of Monk's horrid 10th birthday memories, though I could see her reason for wanting to downplay his rationale for avoiding birthday parties. ¶ We are used to "Monk" crime-detective plots being meager and far-fetched. This one was worse than usual, though intriguing.
