Todd Haley was born on 28 February 1967, in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, to Dick Haley. His father is a former NFL cornerback and director of player personnel for the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers. As a youth, he served as a ball boy for the Steelers and attended many training camps of the team. He studied at Upper St. Clair High School.
