A full range of quality small scenes that tie our characters together. Individually, this is a rather bland film difficult to begin and even longer to finish with nearly 2 ½ hours of play time, but intertwined, these scenes speak about the Parisian police force. "L.627" is a film that resonates within the mind.

Bertrand Tavernier made two great crime movies in the 1990s: Fresh Bait, about problem youth and L.627, about the drug trade. The former was told from the point of view of its young criminals, and the latter from the point of view of the concerned tough cop who could've been the lead in a much more conservative procedural.
