John Arbuthnot Fisher, 1st Baron Fisher. Admiral of the Fleet; an efficient administrator whose reforming influence was felt throughout the navy. As a Vice-Admiral, he was commander-in-chief of the Mediterranean Fleet from 1899 to 1901. He was made a full Admiral in 1901, and became Second Sea Lord at the Admiralty in June 1902.
