Walter Edward Cox (born March 29, 1948), known professionally as Bud Cort, is an American actor known for his unorthodox starring roles in Robert Altman's Brewster McCloud (1970) and Hal Ashby's Harold and Maude (1971).
Bud Cort is an American actor, director, and writer. He is best known for his roles in the films Harold and Maude (1971) and Brewster McCloud (1970). He has also appeared in numerous television shows, including M*A*S*H, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and The Bob Newhart Show.
Bud lived as a house guest for many years with his dear friend Groucho Marx. In 1979 Bud survived a near fatal car crash on the Hollywood Freeway. He continued working in film and theater and co-founded the LA Classic Theatre Works with, among others, Richard Dreyfuss and Rene Auberjonois.
