May 4, 2022 · The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) today declared the reticulated python, DeSchauensee’s anaconda, green anaconda and Beni anaconda as “injurious” under the Lacey Act. A fifth snake, the boa constrictor, is removed from consideration for listing as an injurious wildlife species.

Jun 27, 2014 · There is no valid, peer-reviewed science to support adding species to the Constrictor Rule. As an American citizen, I oppose the listing of any additional species of constrictor snakes, including Boa constrictor, Reticulated python, DeSchauensee’s anaconda, Green anaconda and Beni anaconda, as injurious under the Lacey Act.

The green anaconda ( Eunectes murinus ), also known as the giant anaconda, emerald anaconda, common anaconda, common water boa, or southern green anaconda, is a semi-aquatic boa species found in South America and the Caribbean island of Trinidad. It is the largest, heaviest and the second longest snake in the world, after the reticulated python.
