May 29, 2012 · Isn't Coppola's movie, Bram Stoker's Dracula, pretty accurate? Haven't read the book in ages, and I seem to remember some differences (the movie's portrayal of Dracula renouncing Christianity, and his romantic attachment to Mina come to mind), but overall I think it was the most faithful rendition of the novel.

The movie takes a turn to semi good once Hopkin's Van Helsing makes an appearance but by that time I had mostly checked out. Aside from that even for 1992 the special affects don't seem so, well special. They are just bad. Seeing how popular Dracula is and the Great cast and director I was surprised by how bad this movie is.
