So here's the thing, it's not like a single collective place. This subreddit, and some others dedicated to HP are around, and last I checked we still had a healthy slice of Tumblr. You have to understand how huge the Harry Potter fandom is. It spans almost all continents and age groups. I know people in their 60s and 70s that are diehard HP fans.

A decent clue is to also just look at them. If they move their mouth and it seem like they are breathing and/or still move slightly at all they are knocked out. Theory: Dumbledore is still alive. I've got a theory that Dumbledore is still alive after the Half-Blood Prince and that Snape merely stripped him of his physical form, because of the horcrux he made. Think about it, how did Dumbledore come so quickly to the conclusion that Voldemort made horcruxes? Unless, he made one too.
TLDR: The sword takes on that which makes it stronger.
