Yes, it's great. [deleted] • 3 yr. ago. Not only is it worth watching, it's kinda key to know the lore moving forward. Ezra, Thrawn, Ahsoka, Bo Katan, and especially the World Between Worlds are all part of it. The Ahsoka series is basically a continuation of the Rebels storyline.
Yeah, Clone Wars was cool for its free-flowing nature, but Rebels is way tighter; it has a format without feeling formulaic. And there's still a lot of time devoted to exploring new bits of Star Wars; a lot of the episodes people refer to as filler are actually the ones focused on small corners of the galaxy.
Clone wars and Rebels are not only worth watching as an adult, they are awesome. Be advised that the first season of both shows are very much “for kids” though, and are somewhat of a slog to get through. But Clone wars picks up in season 2, and Rebels does as well, but a bit later in season 2. Skip resistance though.
Rebels as a whole is better than TCW. Sure, TCW does have some great arcs that set the foundation for Rebels, but man does it slog on sometimes. Rebels really benefits from Filoni and the rest of the team learning from the mistakes of TCW, and making a concise story from the get go. TCW and Rebels are both great shows.
