1961 novel by John Steinbeck
The Winter of Our Discontent is John Steinbeck's last novel, published in 1961. The title comes from the first two lines of William Shakespeare's Richard III: "Now is the winter of our discontent / Made glorious summer by this sun [or son] of York". Steinbeck's only work to entirely take place on the East Coast of the United States, the setting is based in Sag Harbor, New York. Wikipedia
