Someone please enlighten me as to what substances Gustav Klimt may have partaken. His paintings - especially the nature ones like the birch trees, sea/ocean, and poppy field - strike me as being very psychedelic. The vibrancy of the colors, the swirl of patters, and the sense of separation and play with flatness vs depth.
