Susan Pollack OBE (born in 1930) is a Hungarian-born British Holocaust survivor and Holocaust educational speaker. She was born with the name Zsuzsanna Blau in Felsogod, Hungary into a Jewish family.
Susan Pollack OBE. Susan was born Zsuzsanna Blau on 9th September 1930 in Felsögöd, Hungary. She had one brother, Laci, and lived with her mother and father. She also had a large extended family who she regularly spent time with. Susan became aware of antisemitism in her hometown from a young age.
Susan Pollack MBE. Susan grew up in Hungary, and experienced antisemitism (anti-Jewish hatred) from a young age. In 1944 Susan was sent to Auschwitz-Birkenau, where she was separated from her family. After the war, she found out that more than 50 of her relatives had been killed and that only her brother had survived.
