Directed by Drew Goddard in his directorial debut, The Cabin in the Woods is a 2011 sci-fi comedy horror that follows a group of college students looking to let loose on a trip to the titular remote cabin, only to be terrorized and killed by mysterious monsters.
It features a cast of local Austin comedians and actors portraying the lives of twenty somethings in a way similar to Richard Linklater's Slacker. Some people say it's a young Seinfeld meets Slacker. It was also filmed on 16mm Kodak film similar to Seinfeld's production. Giving it a very high quality short film, movie like feel.
