The Doctor tackled Bennett to keep him from attempting to save Prentiss and further messing up the time stream. In the process, his right shoulder got ripped. An important rip, because it showed up on his ghostly image in the future.
After the flood, it looks to me on the Hebrew that God told mankind they could eat green plants and bugs. This makes sense because after the flood, I would think all plants would be dead, and the first things to grow would be in their GREEN stage of life before going to seed.
