4 days ago · 1. NOTES OF THE STOW FAMILY. Early History. Stow no doubt belonged to an old London family. His grandfather Thomas ( d. 1527) in his will refers to his own parents as being buried at St. Michael, Cornhill (see p. vii above). This carries the descent one generation further back than John Stow could do. The name occurs occasionally in early records.
