Martha Hyer. Actress: The Sons of Katie Elder. Martha Hyer was born on August 10, 1924 in Fort Worth, Texas. Once she finished her formal schooling, Martha played a bit role in 1946's The Locket (1946). Slowly, Martha began picking up roles with more and more substance.
February 58. columnist Hedda Hopper reports: "Martha Hyer tells me she's between pictures and beaux, enjoying her new home. She spent couple of weeks with her family in Dallas, Texas, and is getting ready for opening the new Hilton hotel in Havana, Cuba. She's got the glad rags, will travel."
In 1966, Hyer married producer Hal B. Wallis, and they remained together until he died in 1986. She published her own autobiography ‘Finding My Way: A Hollywood Memoir’ in 1990. Martha Hyer died on May 31, 2014, at the age of 89 from natural causes.
