Perception is an American crime drama television series created by Kenneth Biller and Mike Sussman. The series stars Eric McCormack as Daniel Pierce, a neuropsychiatrist with schizophrenia who assists the FBI on some of its most complex cases.
The FBI is trying to find a serial killer who was last active 26 years who appears to be active again. One of his victims from 26 years ago was so traumatized that she was placed in a psych ward. But Daniel thinks that the doctors misdiagnosed her and that she can help them.

A neuroscience professor is recruited by the FBI to investigate a death. Moretti enlists Pierce's help to solve a murder of a mail-order bride. Pierce and Moretti look for clues as a serial killer from 1986 resurfaces. Pierce tries to crack a coded message left in a newspaper.
In Perception, McCormack plays Dr. Daniel Pierce, a unique and eccentric neuroscience professor whose paranoid schizophrenia helps him solve crimes for the FBI. Rachael Leigh Cook co-stars as FBI agent and former student Kate Moretti, who recruits Pierce to help her with her toughest cases.
