He "become" Donald Blake in the very beginning in the 60's and left that identity in early 80's. I recommend you start with Dan Jurgens (1998) run if you want stereotypical superhero stuff with a secret identity and all of that, with Strazynski (2007) run if you especifically want Thor comics with Donald Blake or with Jason Aaron (2012) run if you want the more modern starting point possible.
