2 days ago · 3. Check your gas cap area. These models are prone to water collection & rusting in that area, and it might be able to rust into the trunk paneling. I am not sure how bad it is to have an open hole in the bottom of your car to drain water from leaks. I doubt that much noise or dampness can come in to cause problems.
